Charlotte's first Boo Boo

Charlotte suffered her first boo boo! She has recently started to crawl and she happened to crawl her way off the bed while we were in the next room! She may have broken a little bone in her foot (distal fibula for those with a strong anatomy background). The good news is that unless her ankle is touched, she remains in good spirits! I took her to her doctor today to get checked out. He sees what he calls an "irregularity" and wants us to take her to an orthopedic doctor tomorrow. So, more updates to follow!

Since it was my first time taking our daughter in for an injury, I didn't expect the line of questioning that is involved with such a matter! I felt like I was being interrogated by DFCS! I guess it's the norm, but after third person gives me the drill, it got a bit old.

So, here is our way to share the story and to have a little fun at it! The following reenactment is based on true events and is for dramatic purposes only. No children or animals were harmed during the filming of this episode.

1. [cue Law and Order sound] Our tale begins with little Charlotte, nearly asleep, laying on the bed along side the pooches.
2. While Melissa and I are in the bathroom, just outside of bedroom doorway, Charlotte begins to exercise her newly developed crawling skills.
3. Oh no, LOOK OUT CHARLOTTE! Wrigley, why aren't you stopping her? My God dog - do something! BAD DOG! BAD DOG!!
4. ... and over the edge she goes! (we can't afford blue screen technology, so please ignore Melissa in this photo)
5. Down ... down to the ground. (thanks again to our nifty special effects department, aka Melissa!)
6. We have touch down.
7. I feel the need to remind everyone that Charlotte is feeling fine and that this is merely a reenactment!

While Charlotte and I were at her doctor's office, she was having a BLAST playing with her reflection in the mirror!

She would throw her pacifier down, but would get confused one which one was the real pacifier and which was the reflection! She was so cute, but I couldn't help laughing my butt off! What can I say, she was having fun!

Here is Charlotte when we got back from getting her x-rays. She was very happy to be home with her Mommy and to get into her PJ's!

Coming over to give her Daddy a kiss!
