The Dumb Donald Mirage

OK ... so maybe I have a twisted sense of humor, but in the ultrasound photos in my last post, our Baby Charlotte reminded me of Dumb Donald from the Fat Albert Cartoon. Check it out ...

Now anyone who knows me understands that I love this child so much and I am not by any means insulting the girl. I'm just sharing my thoughts, and that ultrasound photo reminded me of Dumb Donald! I think it is the way her cheeks are shaped at the edge of her mouth. I understand that she's surrounded by fluids and she does not have gravity pulling on them as much as she will when she's out in our world. Some people see the Virgin Marry in slices of toast, I see Dumb Donald in our baby's ultrasound.

Hello Everyone!

Hello to you all!

Melissa and I have set up this blog to share photos and our stories about the birth of our first child, Charlotte Reese Nutter. With family and friends far and wide, we wanted to create a space accessible to all. Our goal is to update this space every few days, so please check back in with us often, and please feel free to leave your comments! We are both very excited and nervous, as first time parents are!

Melissa is at 34 weeks and we just had an ultrasound last Tuesday. The baby is almost 6lbs! Everything seems to check out ok and it appears that we are on our way to have a healthy baby girl!

Check out these photos from the 3D ultrasound! Our little girl is going to have some CHEEKS, eh? Speaking personally, my heart nearly thumped out of my chest when I first saw these on the screen in the doctor's office! I've felt so much love for someone I've yet to meet!

Some of you know that Melissa and I have been trying to have a baby for over a year. To be this far along feels like a miracle to me. I truly can not wait to meet this girl for the first time!

Folks have been asking us for the past few months "are you ready?" My answer is usually "I'm not sure." We are almost finished the nursery (still need to put the mobile up, window treatments and wall decor) and we have a play yard, stoller, etc. We have been asked several times what our colors and theme for the nursery is, so without further adieu, here are some photos. People often looked confused when we said that we were going to have a slight Asian theme and a BLACK crib. I think folks thought that it may be to ominous. We think it works ... Please feel free to share your thoughts!
