Merry Christmas! It was Charlotte's first!

Charlotte had a wonderful first Christmas! She was in great spirits all day. Even though she doesn't get the whole experience yet, she truly had a blast today! It really was special for Melissa and I to be able to celebrate our baby's first Christmas.

Due to the bad weather up in West Virginia last week, we spent the holiday in Newnan. This was my first Christmas away from my Father, my Sister and her family in many years. However, it was my first Christmas with the Borrelli's! My mother was even able to come down from North Carolina to be with all of us!

Here is a photo of the whole clan after eating Christmas diner together.

Before going to eat with the whole family, Charlotte was able to open her gifts under her first Christmas tree!

Yep ... that's a toy DRUM!! Charlie picked up the concept pretty quickly! Thanks to Grandma and Grand Daddy Borrelli for the cool percussion instruments! Both Daddy and Charlie will have much fun playing with these together!

... then it was off to the Borrelli's for a great gift from Aunt Dawn, Uncle Dickie and Cousin Lauren!

It's a cow print Wheelie Bug!!

We tried to illustrate how to ride it by using the Teletubbies as crash test dummies ...

Merry Christmas everyone!

A few more photos from our Thanksgiving

Charlotte enjoyed her walks on the beach, and fortunately we do not have any photos of me carrying her in the Bjorn. I don't care how cute the baby is, the dad always looks like a dork when wearing one ... Yet that doesn't stop me!

Thanksgiving on the Gulf

We spent the week of Thanksgiving on St. George Island on Florida's gulf coast. It was a beautiful week and I have more photos than I know what to do with! I've been spending the last week going through them, but still have quite a few to sort through. That being said, look for another post here to follow real soon! In the meantime, I hope that you enjoy the handful of shots that I was able to pull together for you all.

To get things started, here is one of my favorite images of Charlotte that I've captured so far. It truly captures her warm spirit and beautiful smile. She was trying to share her slice of apple with me.

The next photo in another shot that I was very pleased to get. It's a touching photo of Charlotte and her Grand Dad, Dick. She loves the guy!

Melissa caught Charlie by surprise by trying to adjust the bend on the bill of her cap.

Here is another photo that holds a special place in my heart. I absolutely love these two girls!

The day after Thanksgiving we went into Apalachacola, FL for their Christmas celebration. They candle lit the sidewalks, kept the shops open late and had Santa Claus ride into town ... on a shrimp boat! There was a looooong line of children and their parents waiting to get their photo with the Shrimp Boat Santa. We waited for a while, but was too cold and felt that we needed to get indoors. We didn't want the experience to go undocumented so we made the best of the situation by setting Charlotte in front of the towns official Christmas tree for a few photos of our own!

Here is one of the beautiful sunrises that Charlotte and I enjoyed before everyone woke up. This particular photos is from the morning we left to head back home.

One great thing about St. George Island is the lack of light pollution. The moon and starts were very bright one night, so I headed out to the beach with my camera and tripod to get a few photos like this one. You can see the bottom half of Orion at the top left of the frame.

The house we stayed in ...

We can't forget the pooches! Chili and Wrigley both love the beach. They have so much fun walking with us on our beach strolls. The water in the background was very choppy from a storm that passed by the night before.

More photos to be posted in the next few days! Today was Charlotte's 9 month birthday, so we will have photos of her with her bunny coming as well! Thanks for checking in!

8 Month Photos!

Charlotte has made a few developments that are worth mentioning this month. For starters , her first two teeth have appeared! Both came through on the same day and they are on the bottom, up front and center. The same evening we noticed her teeth, she waved good bye for the first time. Other than these two events, her little personality seems to have just blossomed over the last few weeks! She is such a sweetheart!

It also appears that Charlotte has begun to take an interest in crawling. She hasn't quite figured out the mechanics of it yet, but she's getting close. To me it's interesting to see that once she is on her belly that her instincts are telling her to move her legs, but she still has a bit to work out before she's mobile. At which point, our lives will NEVER be the same! Charlie has a curious mind, so I'm sure that we will have to keep a close eye on her to keep out of harms way!

Now check out that groovy hat that Melissa bought Charlie today!
